Our Governing Body

The Trafalgar Schools' Federation (TSF) Governing Body consists of the Headteacher, Staff and Parent Governors, a Local Authority Governor and Co-opted Governors.  

The Federation Governors have a legal responsibility for the overall management of each school individually and collectively and are actively involved in school life. The Governors form a management committee to support the Headteacher and school management team. Find out more about our Governing Body below.

We currently have 2 vacancies for Co-Opted Governors. We are looking for the following key skills: Premises/H&S, Finance, Diversity, Chairing/Team working/Facilitation. The Governing Body would like to interview candidates in the latter part of October.

Our School Governors

Parent Governors are elected by parents with children at either of the Trafalgar schools, for a 4 year term.

The Staff Governor is elected by the staff of  both Trafalgar schools, for a 4 year term.

Co-opted Governors are appointed by the governing body for a 4 year term.

The LA Governor is nominated by the Local Authority  and appointed by the governing body for a 4 year term.

Committees of the Governing Body

The full governing body (FGB) meets at least once a term. In order that issues such as finance, building maintenance, staffing, pupils welfare and the monitoring of developments in the teaching curriculum are addressed, the Governing Body divides into committees. Each Governor is a member of at least one of the following committees:

  • Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TL&A)
  • Finance & Resources (F&R)
  • Pupils, Parents & Community (PPC)
  • Pay
